Torbay Sports Newsletter 10.11.23

Kia ora,

As we approach the end of the year we look back on what our tamariki have been up to in their respective sports in term 4. As always a big thank you to all of our coaches and managers. Sports here at Torbay would not be possible without you. Also thank you to all of our parents who have been such a positive influence on the sidelines cheering on their children and enjoying the competition all year round.

Torbay World Cup: We’ve just wrapped up the group stages of the second annual Torbay World Cup and it’s been another brilliant experience all round. We’re pleased with the excitement and buzz that it once again has created around the school. The tournament is bigger and better this year and it has been great to see such a diverse range of players on the field. While it’s an opportunity to have fun and partake in something different at school, it is also teaching the children a great deal about winning and losing. The sportsmanship displayed by the teams involved has been superb. Bring on the knockout stages!

Senior Athletics: On Monday the 8th of November we hosted our Senior Athletics at Deep Creek Reserve. The weather was kind to us and it was great to see all of our senior tamariki enjoying their day running, jumping, and throwing! These days are not possible without the support of our senior staff and our parents. A big thank you to you all for your involvement and making the day a great success! Below you will find the results of the day.

Good luck for the remainder of the season to all of our students participating in basketball, hockey, netball, splash polo, and touch. Keep up the great work! Ka rawe!

Once again, thank you to our outstanding students, parents, coaches, and managers for making our sports program a shining example of what teamwork and dedication can achieve. Together, we continue to build a community where everyone feels valued and celebrated.
