SPORTS UPDATE TERM 2 – WEEK 7
As we are approaching the end of week 7 we need to register our basketball, miniball and little league teams for next semester and flippa ball teams for Term 3. If you have already registered your children, thank you. If you did not get a chance to do it, could you please do so as soon as possible as this makes planning easier. Register and pay via www.torbay.school.nz – click the link next to the appropriate sporting code to fill in a registration form and then click SHOP to pay.
Our year 6 netball teams will be attending a Field Day on Wednesday the 19th June at Netball North Harbour. The teams will play at least 3 games each and they are looking forward to a fun day of netball.
Our 2nd rippa rugby tournament is in week 10, Thursday the 4th of July in Windsor Park. We will have 14 teams representing Torbay School and again, we need as many parents/grandparents/whānau as possible to help on the day. The draw will not be available until the morning of the tournament, but if you can help even for a part of the day, please contact Monika.
In the meantime, our hockey and netball teams are finishing their grading rounds and doing really well. The draws for the rest of the season will be out once all the grading games are finished. Great effort everyone!
Our senior cross country run was held on Friday 7th of June for year 4, 5, and 6 students in rather challenging conditions. However, all the students, their parents and whānau supporters were very resilient and all deserve a pat on the back for overcoming the cold and rainy conditions.
Our juniors in years 1, 2 and 3 will have their cross country run on Friday 14th of June. We look forward to welcoming whānau back to support our little runners.
You have probably noticed and heard from the children about the ice skating rink visiting our school at present. Children are enjoying their session and making huge progress with their balancing and skating skills. Please support the ice skating rink and spend an hour in the afternoon, letting your amazing children show you what they have learnt.
