Online Enrolment Form

Pre-Enrolment

It is helpful to pre-enrol your child at Torbay School prior to 30 June of the year before his/her 5th birthday or as soon as you know you will be moving into our school zone.

  • Student details need to be completed including “Ethnicity” and all compulsory fields which are marked with a red asterix.

  • Caregiver details need to be completed for both parents. We prefer to have at least one or two other Emergency Contacts, such as trusted family members or friends whom we can contact in an emergency if we are unable to contact either parent first.

  • Enrolment details are requirements for our student management system. Most domestic students are Regular Students. Year levels are dependent on the child’s birth-date, not the date that they start at our school and we can enter that if your child has not already been enrolled at a school in New Zealand.

  • Online enrolment form, please complete all details on this form and submit along with uploading the supporting documentation listed below.

    • NZ Birth Certificate or NZ Passport or overseas Passport with a NZ Residency Stamp or Student Permit with full Birth Certificate and parent’s Passport showing a Work Permit (we will require the original documents to sight at the enrolment interview)
    • Evidence of in-zone address: eg, tenancy agreement, sale and purchase agreement, rates invoice, phone, power, gas account. The document must confirm that you reside at the address.
    • Immunisation Records/Certificate
    • School report (if attended a previous school)

Enrolment Process

A formal enrolment form needs to be completed online. This provides us with all the personal details necessary for our records such as health details, emergency contact numbers and any additional information you feel we need to know. Once you have submitted the online enrolment form, we will be in touch to arrange an enrolment interview with our Deputy Principal.

The following original documents are required to complete your child’s enrolment. We must sight the original documents that you uploaded as part of the enrolment process, which can be provided during your enrolment interview with the Deputy Principal.

If born in New Zealand:

  • Proof of Address (Power bill in the name of a parent or recently dated registered rental agreement)
  • NZ Birth Certificate or NZ Passport or Citizenship Certificate
  • Immunisation Certificate or immunisation records
  • Any legal custody/parenting documents (if applicable)

If born overseas:

  • Proof of Address (Power bill in the name of a parent or recently dated registered rental agreement)
  • Passport
  • Birth Certificate
  • Work/Student Visa/Permit for Parent and Student (if applicable)
  • Immunisation Certificate or immunisation records
  • Copy of recent school reports (with verified English translation if required)
  • Any legal custody/parenting documents (if applicable)

Once we have received an online enrolment, we will acknowledge your child’s enrolment with an email to one or both parents noted on the form.

If you are enrolling a new entrant student, we will send you a letter in the mail outlining your child’s pre-school visits, start date and any documentation still required.

If you require any further information or clarification please call the school office on 09 473 8603.

and to the extent that it is reasonable and practical to do so without “derogating” (= detracting) from the principles above
  • Enables students to attend a school of their choice.
